For the inhabitants of Collioure, the village's festivals are always an opportunity to remember their roots. Even today, the Catalan culture is maintained and passed on through language, dances (like the Sardane), and music (like the cobles - dance musicians with historic shawms).

June 23rd :Festival of St. John: St. John's fires are lit in accordance with an old tradition.
Starting at 9 p.m.: Torch-lit procession through the village, lighting of the St. John's fires on the beach, making herbal bouquets, Sardane dances, and fireworks

 

 

 

     

 

 

 

 

July 14th: National holiday (parade, Sardane dances, dances for everyone)

July 23rd to to August 9th : Theater Festival
Le Festival de Théâtre de Collioure presents:
"Le Tartuffe"  Molière,
"Le Sicilien ou l'amour peintre"  Molière, and 
"Histoire du Fauvisme à Collioure, Henri Matisse raconte..."
at the "Château Royal."




   

August 14th to 18th: Festival of St. Vincent
This festival was first celebrated in the year 1701, on the day when the relics of St. Vincent, the patron saint of Collioure, were returned to the village.
Numerous festive events have been preserved including, for example, games and competitions on the water, dances for everyone, concerts and street music.
